Scott made 41 "A" Mains and won his only NST Feature on September 22nd at State Fair Raceway in Yakima. He won 5 "B" Mains, 7 Heat Races and 4 Dash Wins. He also set Fast Time once. His best seasons were in 2001 and 2002 where he finished eighth and ninth in NST points. His only NST win was in Yakima on Friday night of Championship weekend in 2000.
Championship(s): 1995 Cassidy Speedway 360 Sprint Champion and WILROC Pavement Sprint Champion from 2006-2009 he is also 5-time Daffodil Cup Champion 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013. 2008 and 2009 Western Speedway Track Championship in a Pavement Sprint car.
Started his career at Cassidy Speedway and then traveled for many years in the NST in his own #44 and Tony Menard’s #2. He ran with the Nothern Sprint Tour series from 1996-2002 and made 41 A Mains during those years.
Scott would have to take a Ferry Ride every time he raced in the NST as that was the only way to get his sprint car off of Vancouver Island.
In 1996 he was 11th on June 3rd at Capital Raceway in Edmonton and on July 5th at Riverside Speedway now Cottage Grove Speedway where he had his best finish of the year a 6th.
In 1997 and 1998 he made many A mains with his best finish on July 4th 1998 at Riverside Speedway with a 4th.
In 2000 Scott would finally get that first and his only NST win with the win on Septemeber 22nd at State Fair Raceway in Yakima, Washington. He must of liked that track because on June 9th he would get a 2nd place finish.
2001 would see Scott make many A Mains with a 6th place at Willamete Speedway on June 29th a 7th on May 26th at Riverside Speedway. On July 18th at Portland Speedway, July 20th at Garys Harbor both during Speedweek he would score 8th place finishes on both nights. He would also get one more 8th place finish on August 16th at the Big “E” weekend at Grays Harbor.
Scott would make 2002 his last season running 360 winged sprints on Dirt as he would go on to a illustrious career running 360 winged pavement sprints. in 2002 on May 24th at Willamette he would get his last podium finish with a 3rd. On July 18th at State Fair Raceway and on August 15th at Grays Harbor Raceway during Big “E” weekend Scott would get 4th place in both races.
Scott races on pavement with WILROC and NSRA where he has been very successful. He is the four-time WILROC series Champion and the only five-time Daffodil Cup Champ at Western Speedway in Victoria, BC.
In 2003 Scott started driving in the WILROC Pavement Sprint series in Victoria , BC. He finished 9th in overall points and was 8th at Western Speedway and 10th at Saratoga Speedway.
In 2005 he finished 4th in the overall points and was 5th in the Victoria Championship point battle. He also was 3rd at Saratoga Speedway. In 2006 he would start his run of four Championships in the WILROC Sprint Series. He also was 1st in points in the Victoria Championship and was 3rd at Saratoga Speedway Championship.
In 2007 he repeated as WILROC champion and again also won the Victoria Championship. He was 3rd at Saratoga Speedway. He would also start his run of Daffodil Cup wins with his first in 2007. On April 1, 2007 Scott got his first NSRA sprint car win at the Doug James Memorial race at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe , Washington. In 2008 he beat Randy Price for his 3rd Championship in a row. He also won his first Track Championship at Western Speedway and was 4th overall in the Off-Island Tour Series Championship. Scott would defend his Daffodil Cup championship with his 2nd.
He would win the last of his four in row Championships in 2009 and again won the Western Speedway Track Championship. At Saratoga Speedway he would end up 5th in points.
In 2010 he would again be a force when running on pavement and would get his 3rd Daffodil Cup Championship at Western Speedway.
In 2011 he would win his fourth Daffodil Cup Championship. He would pick up wins on June 10th at Western Speedway in Victoria, BC. He would also win again at Western Speedway on August 19th. He would end the year with 6 top 5’s.
In 2012 he would end up 6th in NSRA series points for the Winged pavement series. On August 17th 2012 Scott would get a win at Western Speedway.
Scott would get three wins in 2013 at three different tracks and would end up 8th in points in NSRA Series. His first win of the year happened on August 16th at Western Speedway and then again on August 31st Motoplex Speedway in Vernon, BC. He would get his 3rd and last win of the year on September 14th at Rocky Mountain Raceway in West Valley City, Utah. Scott would also score his 5th and record breaking Daffodil Cup Championship series. Aumen rewrote the record books, becoming the first driver to win five Daffodil Cup races, one more than late great Hall-of-Famers Billy Foster and Roy Smith. Being presented with the Cup topped off an illustrious night that also saw the Duncan driver breaking the track record, in a time of 13.497 seconds, in front of approximately 2,500 cheering fans.
2015 would see Scott re-established himself as a force after not running much in 2014 he would end up with his highest finished in NSRA series pints with a 3rd place finish. He would get his only win on July 18th at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon. He would end the year with 8 top 5’s and 9 top 10’s.
