Andy started driving Street Stocks in 1991 at Douglas County Speedway, in Roseburg, Oregon at the age of 16. He claimed “Rookie of the Year” and 4th in the points battle. He continued racing Street Stocks until 1995. He then took to Sprint Cars in 1997, joining NSSRA. His 1st year driving Sprint Cars, he earned “Rookie of the Year” honors. Being an Owner/Driver through 1998, he ended the season selling his car and starting a family with wife, Sherrie (Brown). In the 1999 and 2000 season Andy raced very limited shows for Don Hein and “Quick” Rick Brown. Andy joined the Bud Van Osten Race Team in 2001 competing in a limited # of races. The # of events Andy participated in, increased in 2002 to approximately 50% of the NSRA schedule. Andy has continued to drive the #76 “Dar-Dan Racing” machine which is now also supported with a second car provided by Dick Upton of Roseburg, Oregon.
