(1990-1999)

Cassidy Speedway Dirt Cup Champion

Nanaimo, British Columbia

The Cassidy Dirt Cup was held for ten straight years (1990-1999) at Cassidy Speedway, just south of Nanaimo, British Columbia on Beautiful Vancouver Island. Usually a two-day event, the race was always held in late September after most other northwest tracks had finished for the season and featured a unique mix of travelling drivers (mostly from Western Washington) and Cassidy speedway regulars. In addition to the champions listed below, some of the other big names to compete at Cassidy over the years included Marc Huson, Randy Ridge, Fred Brownfield, Kasey Kahne and Tim Gee. At it's peak in the mid 90's this race would attract 30-35 cars and over 5,000 spectators, with post race activities at the nearby campground often lasting until sunrise. Unfortunately Cassidy Speedway closed at the end of the 1999 season.

They also ran the 360 Dirt Cup Invintational with the winner getting to start outside of the First Row for the 410 Cassidy Dirt Cup.
